here’s a link to a really cool letter that no witness can dispute.. jw letter.
Excellent letter, a bit tongue in cheek.
It's as if a brand new JW was asked to put his gut feelings and beliefs down on paper, holding nothing back ("yes, bro Newbie, that is what we believe, but let's not divulge that all at once -- for fear we might scare them off").
It's what I would call unvarnished JW truth.
we've probably all heard it, "i wish i could get the covid and that way it would be behind me", as if it were some annoying rite of passage.
"sure, i'll lose my senses of smell and taste for awhile, i'll lose my strength for awhile", etc.. what else could be the reasoning for ignoring the social distancing to attend maskless parties and similar large group gatherings?.
however, looking at the following xray images of certain lungs may help impress some folks into thinking that there are more serious happenings in the attack progression of this virus.

i recently came across the above watchtower article which spoke about conducting bible studies which lead to baptism.
it progressed to say that if the bible study instructor does not see growth within the student or the desire to work towards baptism, then the studies should end.
Oh, yes, I can remember when they launched the six-month BS program.
It must've been early 1969 or late 1968 that "the six-month home bible-study program" was mandated. (The library CD only goes back to 1970 so we have to use a bit of extrapolation)
*** Kingdom Ministry 3/70 p. 4 pars. 4-5 Presenting the Good News—Become ‘Intensely Occupied with the Word’ ***
"A little over a year ago we were introduced to the six-month home Bible-study program. We immediately grasped that this would be an additional effective method to help get the work done in the short time remaining.
5 Now reports from the field show that Bible studies are being discontinued as publishers realize that the student is not making progress. This is entirely proper. There is no reason to spend our time with those who obviously are not really interested in doing something about the truths they are learning."
Remember, that's more than 50 years ago because of "the short time remaining".
some may be interested in this research from the scripps research institute.. this research and its conclusion builds on previous work, quote: "in a study published in the chemistry journal angewandte chemie, they demonstrated that a simple compound called diamidophosphate (dap), which was plausibly present on earth before life arose, could have chemically knitted together tiny dna building blocks called deoxynucleosides into strands of primordial dna.. the finding is the latest in a series of discoveries, over the past several years, pointing to the possibility that dna and its close chemical cousin rna arose together as products of similar chemical reactions, and that the first self-replicating molecules -- the first life forms on earth -- were mixes of the two.".

One of the greatest discussions I've ever seen on this forum.
Oh, and that link to the Nova program on "The Great Math Mystery", thanks to Magnum.

this is a reply i sent to a jw who sent me a letter "what is gods kingdom"?
i didn`t want to come across to strong or as an apostate .i was pleasant b4 and after this piece .. you direct me to the watchtower magazine that announces jehovah`s kingdom to get the right answer`s to what god`s kingdom means.. i am somewhat familiar with what the new testament says about god`s kingdom and i cannot find in any scripture a specific mention of jehovah`s kingdom, not one scripture .
those words jehovah`s kingdom do not appear in any bible i have seen including the nwt.. i have a few bibles .. but what i do find is that there are over 20 scriptures that explicitly state that followers of jesus christ, christians, are to be witnesses of jesus christ and his kingdom , the kingdom of jesus christ that is to rule for a thousand years .. the bible makes no mention of a jehovah`s kingdom.. the reason that there are over 40,000+ christian sects is because they all fall victim to relying on their own interpretations of what they consider this scripture or that scripture means and not accepting what the bible simply states.. and then i thanked her for her concern and gave her my e-mail address if she wants to contact me further .. criticsims / feedback welcome .. edit:.
Bravo, Smiddy3.
hi all, been a long time posting.. i have heard today that jws cannot take the vaccine due to blood within it.
is this correct?.
dig .
Well, in Governing Body wisdom, they needed at least to moderate the maximum number, apparently six wives would be too many.
So if they had two or three or four or five wives, they could keep them, but they should not take any more.
of course!!

To support ElderEtta's 1947 statement, re 1947, this quote from 1995 Watchtower.:
But until 1947 when the missionaries came, polygamy was common in the congregations. Polygamous brothers were told that they had married more than one wife in ignorance. So if they had two or three or four or five wives, they could keep them, but they should not take any more. That was the policy we had. The Watchtower, 1995, 9/1 p. 25
